Creating a MySQL DB instance

Creating a MySQL DB instance

  1. In the control panel, select 'Cloud Database MySQL' > 'MySQL Management', and click on 'Create Database'; or click to create a MySQL instance in the blank area as prompted.

  1. Select region and availability zone in the creation page.

  1. Select Database Configuration

3.1) Choose the database type, storage type, memory, disk, version and high-availability disaster recovery plan as needed. When creating a MySQL instance, the default configuration file will be used. If there are special needs, users can upload a custom configuration file.

  • After selecting the major version, users can choose the corresponding minor version from the list.
  • For version 8.0, users can configure the 'Table Name Case Sensitivity' as needed. This configuration cannot be changed after the instance is created
 off means lower_case_table_names=0, i.e., the table name is case-insensitive
 on  means lower_case_table_names=1, i.e., the table name is case-sensitive

3.2) Set the network, database name, port number, administrator username, and administrator password as needed. The default port number for MySQL is 3306, and the default administrator username is root. For data security, the administrator password needs to be complex.

3.3) For database billing, select the billing method and billing cycle on the right panel, and click "Purchase Now".

  1. Finally, confirm all selections and the amount, and proceed to payment.

  1. After the payment is completed, the page will redirect back to the MySQL instance management page. The MySQL instance will initialize, and it can be used once the initialization is completed. On the MySQL instance management page, all information about the MySQL instance is listed, including instance name, properties, IP address, database type, version, status, etc.

  1. Selecting a specific MySQL instance and clicking on 'Details' will display detailed information about the MySQL instance. You can also view monitoring data and perform common operations.
